Drew Williamson’s nickname is Big Country, but the Alabama junior won’t forget his winning bunt on Saturday as it helped the Crimson Tide to a 4-3 win over Stetson.

Williamson reached on a throwing error as the Stetson pitcher air-mailed the throw past first base as William Hamiter scored. The Crimson Tide bounced back from a 4-2 loss to Stetson on Friday. The Crimson Tide got a pair of defensive gems from center fielder Caden Rose, who laid out for a diving grab in the eighth inning.

This finish was what Alabama hoped for on Friday, but couldn’t deliver. The Crimson Tide scored two in the ninth and had the go-ahead run at the plate but could not complete the comeback. However, this was the second straight late-inning offense from Williamson, who broke up a no-hit bid on Friday with a leadoff single to start the ninth, and he later scored.

Williamson each got aboard in tonight’s game and has now reached base safely in 14 straight games dating back to Feb. 21.

The teams wrap up the series at 1 p.m. on Sunday.
