Can Alabama finish the season undefeated?

Nick Saban’s defense looks just about as good as it always has, and the offense has held up its end of the deal through the first seven weeks of the season.

Upsets are always a possibility, but outside of an 8-point win over Texas A&M (that was never really that close), Alabama has hardly been challenged.

The Crimson Tide’s remaining schedule is quite favorable, as well.

ESPN’s updated Football Power Index projected the remainder of Alabama’s games after Week 7. It has the Tide finishing 12-0, and doesn’t expect many teams to even challenge Alabama.

Auburn has the highest chance, according to the FPI, but the Crimson Tide is still a heavy favorite.

Here are the Crimson Tide’s projected win percentages via the FPI:

  • vs. Tennessee — 97.9 percent
  • vs. LSU — 94.2 percent
  • at Mississippi State — 87.4 percent
  • vs. Mercer — 99.7 percent
  • at Auburn — 74.6 percent
