Extent of Alabama’s Will Anderson’s injury revealed, per report

Published:
Will Anderson left Alabama’s game against Mercer on Saturday afternoon after suffering an apparent knee injury.
The injury occurred when a Mercer lineman went low on him for a block, hitting Anderson’s knee with his helmet.
As you can see below, the photos of the play look painful. And, indeed, Anderson went to the locker room shortly thereafter:

But, midway through the fourth quarter, The Athletic’s Aaron Suttles had an update. Per Suttles, the injury is not believed to be serious:
Will Anderson’s lower leg injury is not believed to be serious, sources tell The Athletic. I’m sure he’ll have additional tests at some point, but as of now it’s not feared to be a major injury.

As Suttles mentions, there will probably be some tests done on Anderson’s knee this week to make sure nothing is wrong, but this, for now, is good news for the Crimson Tide.
