It’s been so much “fun” debating the Alabama quarterback competition going on seven months now that one Twitter user found a creative way to potentially extend the debate to next offseason with no Crimson Tide losing a year of eligibility — at least, in the regular season.

How could this be accomplished? Well, thanks to the new NCAA redshirt rule, which allows players to compete in up to four games without losing their redshirt status, Alabama could conceivably rotate quarterbacks in and out of the lineup for the entire regular season and not use up a single year of eligibility for any of the program’s signal callers.

Check out his creative logic that may actually have Nick Saban considering such an ingenious strategy for the coming season:

This logic would potentially bring back Tua Tagovailoa, Jalen Hurts and/or Mac Jones next season without losing their eligibility this fall.

Of course, one quarterback would have to take the reins of the offense in the postseason but this is still a creative idea, regardless of how unrealistic it may be. You have to hand it to this guy, after seven months of nonstop debate on this topic, he’s found an interesting way to bring a new idea to the table for Saban and his offseason quarterback competition.
