Demarco Murray is now gone from Tennessee’s backfield in 2018, and that means the Titans will feature former Alabama RB Derrick Henry much more.

In two career seasons, Henry has rushed for 1,234 yards and 10 TDs while averaging 4.3 yards per carry. Those aren’t eye-popping numbers, but Henry should have a chance to really increase those this season. Absent Murray, Tennessee signed back Dion Lewis, who spent the last three years with the New England Patriots, and the first thing that jumped out to Lewis about Henry: size. Lewis is 5-foot-8, 195 pounds, while Henry is 6-foot-3, 247 pounds.

“He’s a lot bigger than me – that’s the first thing I noticed,” Lewis said, via TitansOnline.com. “He’s a lot bigger than I thought he was.”

Henry certainly looks more like a DE than a RB, and Lewis was taken by surprise. We’re willing to bet Henry has had that effect on many teammates.  Lewis seems to think they complement one another very well.

“We are locker mates, we work hard every day, we compete against each other in drills and working out,” Lewis said. “We push each other, and that is definitely a good thing to have. So I has been great.

“I think it could be great – two different running styles, and we are both productive guys. So we complement each other very well. I am excited to work with him and the past three weeks have been great, just working with him, getting to know him. I think it’s been great for us.”

The former Heisman Trophy winner could be in for a big breakout season.
