Former 5-star Eyabi Anoma no longer on updated Alabama football roster
Former Alabama LB Eyabi Anoma is no longer listed on the team’s official online roster.
The nation’s former No. 4 overall prospect in the 2018 recruiting class appears to be on his way out. He’s listed in the NCAA transfer portal, and he is reportedly home in Washington D.C. It was recently reported that Anoma wasn’t enrolled in classes before it was found out he went home.
Alabama starts fall camp Friday, and it appears that Anoma won’t return.
AL.com is reporting that Anoma was suspended by the school this summer and this latest development stems from a university level issue.
Losing Anoma is a big blow to Alabama’s defense, as the talented defender projected to be a big part of the future. When he signed at Alabama, Anoma was ranked as the nation’s No. 4 overall WDE and the state of Maryland’s No. 1 overall prospect, according to 247Sports Composite Rankings. Most figure Maryland to be the team to watch out for moving forward.
Should Anoma have a change of heart, though, he’d have until August 28 to re-enroll in classes at Alabama to be able to play this season. He recorded nine tackles and was named an All-SEC Freshman in 2018.
