The Dallas Cowboys announced the signing of Evans on Thursday. Last month, Evans was released by the Philadelphia Eagles after just 3 days on the team’s practice squad. The release was made at Evans’ request, as he felt there were better opportunities for him elsewhere.

Evans has played professionally since 2018. He was an Alabama student-athlete from 2014-to-2017, helping the Crimson Tide win national championships in 2015 and ’17. Evans was named All-SEC and a first-team All-American in his final season.
The Tennessee Titans selected Evans with the No. 22 overall pick in the first round of the 2018 NFL Draft. Evans remained with the Titans through the 2021 season.
Evans signed a 1-year contract with the Atlanta Falcons ahead of the 2022 season. A 17-game starter for the Falcons, Evans posted a career-high 159 combined tackles. Evans had 2 sacks, 4 passes defended, 1 forced fumble and 1 fumble recovery last season.
For his career, Evans has played in 76 regular-season games, making 67 starts. He also started 4 postseason contests for the Titans in 2019 and ’20.
We’ll see if Evans can get back on the field with the Cowboys.
