Former Alabama defensive lineman Isaiah Buggs has a new NFL team. The Detroit Lions announced the signing of Buggs on Friday.

In 2019, Buggs was selected by the Pittsburgh Steelers with the No. 192 pick in the sixth round of the NFL Draft. He spent the past 3 seasons with the Steelers, recording 31 tackles over 29 games (7 starts).

Buggs is coming off of a 2021 season in which he played in 10 games, making 6 starts. He recorded 17 total tackles and a pass deflection, the first of his career.

The Steelers released Buggs on Jan. 8. Days later, he landed with the Las Vegas Raiders on their practice squad.
