Former Alabama LB released by Detroit Lions
Former Alabama LB Shaun Dion Hamilton was trying to earn a roster spot for the Detroit Lions this season.
However, ahead of the final preseason game of the year, the Lions have decided to go in a different direction, releasing the ex-Crimson Tide standout.
As you can see below, the Lions took to Twitter to announce Hamilton’s release along with a flurry of other roster moves:

Hamilton was chosen in Round 6 of the 2018 NFL Draft by Washington. He spent the 2018, 2019 and 2020 seasons there before heading to Detroit prior to the 2021 season.
In his 3 years with Washington, Hamilton recorded 97 total tackles (7 for a loss), 2.5 sacks, 2 pass breakups, 2 forced fumbles and 1 interception.
We’ll see if he can find a new NFL home before the 2022 campaign begins.
