Though former Alabama LB Reuben Foster wasn’t able to practice much this spring or earlier this summer due to offseason shoulder surgery, he’s back in action now.

And, now that he’s fully healthy again, he’s making the most of his opportunities with the San Francisco 49ers.

According to NinersNation.com, coach Kyle Shanahan has named Foster the starting WILL linebacker for the 2017 season.

Shanahan made the announcement with the caveat that Foster’s starting job could be taken away at any time if another player outperforms him, but for now, it’s the rookie first-round pick’s job to lose.

Considering he finished the 2016 season with 115 tackles (five for loss) and two sacks, he’ll probably be just fine at the NFL level.
