Former Alabama RB Jahmyr Gibbs scores on 4th down to extend lead over Green Bay Packers
Former Alabama running back Jahmyr Gibbs is one of the most dynamic playmakers in the NFL at the running back position. Gibbs is showing off that playmaking ability in NFL Week 9, as the RB scampered into the end zone for a 15-yard score in the 3rd quarter.
The score put Gibbs’ Lions up 24-3 over the division-rival Green Bay Packers.

At the start of the 4th quarter, the Lions were enjoying a 24-6 lead over the Packers. To that point, Gibbs had 9 carries for 58 yards and a score. The RB also had 1 catch for 11 yards.
Heading into Week 9, Gibbs was 8th in the NFL with 591 rushing yards. The former Tide playmaker is having another solid year, with 154 receiving yards to add to his rushing output.
Gibbs came into the NFL after being selected in the 1st round of the 2023 NFL Draft. As a rookie, Gibbs racked up 945 rushing yards and 10 scores. The Alabama product added 52 catches for 316 yards and 1 receiving TD. This debut season led to Gibbs being a Pro Bowl selection as a rookie.
Before starring in the NFL, Gibbs starred for Alabama. The RB transferred to Alabama ahead of the 2022 season after spending his first 2 college seasons at Georgia Tech. During his lone season in Tuscaloosa, Gibbs rushed for 926 yards and 7 TDs while catching 44 passes for 444 yards and 3 receiving scores.
If Gibbs’ team picks up the win in Week 9, they will improve to 7-1 and have firm control of the NFC North.
