Carson Tinker has re-started his NFL career.
The former Alabama long snapper has bounced back from multiple knee injuries and signed with the New York Giants. He last played with the Jacksonville Jaguars
The Giants signed Tinker after he did not play in the NFL in 2017 or 2019. He first tore his right ACL in a non-contact drill early in training camp and spent the season on injured reserve. Then he suffered a different injury to the same knee, and was released by Jacksonville then spent 2019 out of football.
He entered the NFL in 2013 as a rookie free agent. He snapped in all 16 games in each of is first four seasons. In 2015, he finished second on the team with six special teams tackles and the following year was voted special teams captain by his teammates.
Tinker was the long snapper on Alabama’s 2011 and 2012 BCS national championship teams.
Tinker also wrote “A Season to Remember: Faith in the Midst of the Storm,” which deals with the April 27, 2011, tornado that devastated Tuscaloosa, its aftermath and the championship season that followed for the Crimson Tide, AL.com reported. Ashley Harrison, Tinker’s girlfriend, was among the 247 people killed in Alabama by 62 tornadoes that day. Tinker, who was with her when the tornado struck, suffered a broken wrist, concussion and ankle injury. Proceeds from the book go to Tinker’s Be A Blessing Foundation, which helps those who have suffered loss or hardship.
