Former Alabama WR ArDarius Stewart joins Washington Redskins' practice squad
ArDarius Stewart won’t end the season as a free agent.
The Washington Redskins signed the former Alabama receiver to their practice squad, the team announced Wednesday. Stewart was released by the Raiders on Nov. 28 after spending two weeks on their practice squad.
He began the year with the New York Jets, who selected him in the third round of the 2017 NFL Draft. Stewart played in 12 games with two starts as a rookie, catching six passes for 82 yards and rushing seven times for 27 yards. He also returned nine kicks for 173 yards.
Stewart was a prolific receiver at Alabama from 2014-16, during which the Crimson Tide won three straight SEC championships and a national title. He hauled in 129 balls for 1,713 yards and 12 touchdowns while in Tuscaloosa.
