Former Alabama WR Julio Jones signed to Philadelphia’s practice squad on Tuesday, but he’ll be on the active roster for his first game with the Eagles.

Jones has been elevated to the active roster for Philadelphia’s “Sunday Night Football” game against the Miami Dolphins. NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport reports that Jones is expected to make his 2023 season debut in the game.

Jones last played on Jan. 16 for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. In a playoff loss to the Dallas Cowboys, Jones recorded 7 catches on 11 targets for 74 yards and 1 touchdown. In the 2022 regular season, Jones had 24 catches for 299 yards and 2 touchdowns.

A former standout of Alabama’s 2009 national championship team, Jones has been playing professionally since 2011. He was drafted with the No. 6 overall pick by the Atlanta Falcons.

Jones played his first 10 seasons in Atlanta. He was named first-team All-Pro in 2015 and ’16 and earned second-team All-Pro recognition for 3 consecutive seasons beginning in 2017. Jones has made the Pro Bowl 7 times, beginning in 2012 followed by a 6-season run from 2014-to-2019. Jones’ standout seasons with the Falcons earned him a spot on the NFL’s 2010s All-Decade Team.

The Eagles are Jones’ third team in as many seasons. He was traded to the Tennessee Titans ahead of the 2021 season. Last year, Jones signed a 1-year deal with the Bucs.

Over his decorated career, Jones has played in 155 regular-season contests, starting 149 times. He has recorded 903 receptions for 13,629 yards and 63 touchdowns. Jones has also played in 10 postseason games, logging 74 catches for 970 yards and 7 scores.

Jones won’t be the only former Alabama standout in the spotlight on Sunday night. The game’s QB matchup is another “Bama Bowl” featuring Jalen Hurts and Tua Tagovailoa.  DeVonta Smith and Jaylen Waddle are among the teams’ leading wideouts. Kickoff is set for 8:20 p.m. ET, on NBC.
