FOX analyst Joel Klatt explains how Nick Saban has 'ruined' CFB fanbases
Klatt and Cowherd were having a discussion about the state of the Michigan football program. After talking about UM’s history in bowl games, Cowherd says, “We think this is Bama. It’s not Bama.”
Cowherd’s mention of the Alabama football program and other fanbases wanting to see Bama-like success at their program led Klatt to explain how Alabama has “ruined” some college football fanbases.
“It’s interesting that you bring (Alabama) up,” Klatt said. “One of the things that I relate college football to fans to right now: they’re exactly like NBA fans; they’re exactly like golf fans. We have been ruined as NBA fans and as golf fans… We’ve been ruined by Tiger Woods; we’ve been ruined by Michael Jordan and Lebron James. We expect this greatness at clips that are unheard of as far as the consistency of greatness. So Bama, and Nick Saban – and to some degree, Urban Meyer did this – they’ve kind of ruined the expectation of fanbases.”
Some non-Alabama fans may take issue with Klatt’s comments, but it’s hard to argue with lumping Saban in with the other GOATs.
