Jalen Hurts is on the board with the first completion of his NFL career!

The former quarterback for Alabama and Oklahoma is now in the NFL after being drafted by the Philadelphia Eagles in the second round of this year’s NFL Draft. Entering Sunday’s action, Hurts has seen the field as a ball carrier but had yet to throw a pass in the NFL.

That changed in the fourth quarter of Sunday’s game between the Eagles and the Pittsburgh Steelers. With starting QB Carson Wentz on the field but split out wide, Hurts was in the shotgun for the snap.

The throw was a bullet down the seam to Richard Rodgers that went for 18 yards and a first down:

That play kept a drive going that would turn into an Eagles touchdown. It also gives Hurts a QB rating of 118.8 for the game.

Considering the struggles of Wentz and the Eagles to start this season, it will be interesting to see if Hurts gets any consistent playing time this season. Hopefully he gets more chances to show what he can do in the near future.
