Greg McElroy details the myriad of issues facing Alabama
Greg McElroy knows that Alabama’s got issues. He discussed what has been going on with Alabama in the last couple of weeks on Always College Football.
One of the main problems that McElroy pointed out was the bad offensive line play.
“Alabama’s got issues. Alabama’s got a lot of issues. The offensive line continues to be a huge liability in pass protection,” said McElroy. “They weren’t able to move guys off the ball as often as they should. Credit to South Florida, but Alabama’s got a whole host of issues.”
Much like Crimson Tide fans, McElroy shared his disappointment for how Tyler Buchner played. Ty Simpson impressed McElroy with some things, however.
“Based on what we saw today, it looks like Tyler Buchner’s not gonna be a factor in that quarterback race anymore. He looked erratic, uncomfortable, and inaccurate. He didn’t do a lot to inspire a lot of confidence. Ty Simpson did do some good things, but the protection on the left side of the line in particular is gonna be something they have to address at some point.”
Alabama has a chance to redeem itself in Week 4 with Ole Miss coming to town. The Rebels beat Georgia Tech 48-23 in their last game.
Kickoff from Bryant-Denny Stadium will be at 3:30 p.m. ET on CBS.
As a lifer Tide fan it is quite apparent that we have multiple problems in Tuscaloosa this year. Hopefully coach Saban & the coaches correct these issues. If not the season will be long. The team seemed totally unmotivated Saturday vs. USF. Roll Tide !
Been waiting 2 years for corrections, don’t seem to be coming.
LONG BUT…..
AFan……. Correct me if I am wrong. If a few things had gone the way of South Florida in their last big drive. Alabama could have been looking at a loss!!!!
Now I thought Alabama being quote “PISSED.” I thought this was supposed to RIGHT THE SHIP???? I honestly believe that Alabama is more lost now than before!!!!!
IS SABAN TRYING TO HIDE HIS QB WEAKNESSES BEFORE THE OLE MISS GAME???
Y’all had better hope so. Otherwise Saban himself is just as lost as Joe Milton is right now!!!!! It appears Saban is pumping sunshine up his own backside. Hoping he can make himself believe again!!!!!
Based upon what Alabama looked like these last 2 games. I honestly don’t believe y’all can run the table against your tougher SEC teams!!!! It’s nice to hope. We all need hope!!!!
I am just saying. Personally I don’t see it happening!!!! The defense was good not giving up many points. Still South Florida ran up and down the field on you. Playing teams that are legit could expose a very average defense!!!!!
HOW MANY TIDE FANS WANT TO HIRE BOB BACK FOR OFFENSE, AND GIVE TOMMY REESE BACK TO NOTRE DAME. ALONG WITH HIS QB AKA TB??????? LOL
And when is it time to blame Saban??? After all. He made all these hiring decisions and their were great QB’s in the portal. Kentucky got one better than Will Levi’s! Notre Dame got one. Hey even JT Daniels would have been extremely accurate with Alabama!!!!! Y’all could have got him. He didn’t really want to go to Rice!!!!!
JT Daniels had the exact same numbers that Bryce Young had at 152 TD PASSES! Only he reclassified and played an entire season less than Bryce Young!!!!! He did it in only 3 years and Bryce Young did it in 4 years!!!!!!
He only needs his confidence back!!! He is not an elite runner and neither is Bryce Young!!!! Saban could easily have gotten him. He is an elite passing QB with a great mind!!!
BRYCE YOUNG PLAYED AT THE SAME SCHOOL HIS LAST SEASON THAT JT DID! BRYCE PLAYED IN HIS SHADOW AND THAT IS A FACT!!!!! YET SABAN DIDN’T EVEN BOTHER TO TRY!!!!
There were still plenty of portal QB’s out there and he picked a Notre Dame backup to be his potential guy!!!! Just watch the Notre Dame QB and the QB that Kentucky signed from the portal!!!!!!
It is highly likely that Alabama could fall out of the playoff race very soon now. Remember my prediction??? I said Alabama has the TALENT to win it all. But it’s also extremely possible they could lose 2 games if not more early in the season!!!!! Thus eliminating any real playoff shot!!!!!
I will ADD TO MY PREDICTION. I predict if those QB’s get nervous and throw a game away. I predict there MIGHT be several opt-outs for the Alabama team. Saying they want to get ready for the NFL DRAFT!!! I am talking early or the second Alabama losses #2 or #3 at the latest.
THEN ONCE ALABAMA IS REALLY OUT OF IT. THEN THE TEAM WILL HAVE NO PRESSURE AND POSSIBLY PLAY GREAT. POSSIBLY FINISH STRONG!!!!
Then Saban will run the score up just as high as he can. On anyone he beats!!! And then. AT THE END OF THE SEASON. HE WILL LOBBY TO BE IN THE PLAYOFF!!!!!
He will use TCU last season as an example. Saying I truly believe this team has worked too hard. To not be given a chance!!!!!!
MY ANSWER…..
Both LSU and Tennessee beat your Alabama team last season. Tennessee beat Alabama and LSU!!! Therefore if any 2 loss team should have made the playoffs last season…
It should be TENNESSEE period!!!!! No argument can be made against my logic!!!! Alabama also did NOT deserve the 5th playoff ranking. Before the bowl games were even finished!!!!
TENNESSEE WAS FAR MORE DESERVING THAN ALABAMA LAST SEASON!!!!!
Wait and see if I am not right. Depending on your final record. If you finish with 2 losses then EXPECT THIS TO HAPPEN!!!! If you lose 3 or more. Saban will again say. This was kinda a rebuilding season. A time for us to get back where we were!!!! I am proud of my guys who stayed to help finish the drill!!!! LOL
Yes Alabama could get hot and finish with 1 regular season loss. It can happen. Still I wouldn’t be expecting it!!!!!!
Yanking Milroe out in favor of TB and TS was a HUGE MISTAKE!!!!! And yes Saban made this costly mistake!!!!
If TB or TS either one start vs Ole Miss. I predict costly mistakes!!!! Either way. It’s all Saban’s call!!!!!
So when does coach Saban get any blame??? I mean he always takes all the credit for winning in his own way. So yes, he deserves to have to own this failure if it happens!!!!!
Calling for coach Prime to be at Alabama is pure lunacy!!! Anyone who wants coach Prime over Saban. That person is delusional at best!!!!! But if Prime won’t come. You can always hire Willy Taggart or whatever his name is!!!! Coach Prime is Willy 2.0!!!!! LOL
Saban should be blamed if your season fails!!!! But no it’s not over just yet!!!!! Yes it could get better. Only it could also get a lot worse and y’all need to prepare!!!!
PS. Saban shouldn’t be above blame!!!! He put all this together…..

PLEASE PUT A GUN TO YOUR TEMPLE AND PULL THE TRIGGER! Anyone dumb enough to write a fu cking paragraph needs to go so either do us all a favor or I can do it for you!
He does not even realize he has an illness.
I predict Milroe will come out extremely tight vs Ole Miss!!!! Ole Miss will be the nothing to lose underdog. And I predict they play like it!!!!
To me I think this game is a TOSSUP!!!! Only without picking a side. I believe Ole Miss can hang with Alabama!!! If I was forced to pick one. And I had no choice. I would pick Ole Miss I believe!!! That could change as I reserve the right to know where the game is played. Time and players who are or are not playing…
For now if I were forced to pick one. Right this moment I would choose Ole Miss!!! I also believe A&M are just laying in the weeds getting ready TO STRIKE!!!! LOL
As a whole I will say. The Texas A&M team could be called THE TEXAS RATTLE SNAKE. Just waiting to catch Alabama sleep walking!!!!
A&M is waiting in the weeds regardless to who wins the Ole Miss game!!!! Try not to be bitten!!!!! LOL
I AM NOT CRAZY ABOUT YOUR CHANCES OF MAKING IT THROUGH WITHOUT EVEN ONE MORE LOSS!!!!
GOOD LUCK EXCEPT VS MY DAWGS!!!! LOL
PS. Try to remember to watch your breathing. It is stress every week from here on out!!!!!!! LOL

Coaching is a big part of the problem
Alabama lost 5 o linemen to the portal last year they are an inexperienced group maybe they can learn to pass block and pick up the blitz the receivers need to block better to
Tyler booker was out of the last game Ferguson played in his spot making his first career start
