Alabama star QB Tua Tagovailoa will miss Saturday’s game against Arkansas after having surgery to repair an ankle injury.

That means backup Mac Jones will get the start against the Razorbacks — his first start for the Crimson Tide.

On SportsCenter on Saturday morning, SEC Network analyst Tim Tebow said he doesn’t think Alabama’s offense will look much different with Jones at quarterback:

“Well, I think it’s still going to look similar,” Tebow said. “I think they’re going to run their RPOs, but I think you’ll see more downhill running and more true play action — get him on the edge and get him comfortable with more completions. But we also have to remember — there are still four receivers that have a chance to be first-round draft picks for Alabama. Mac Jones is a very capable quarterback. He’s a young man who’s very smart and has impressed everyone at Alabama in his few  years there, and he can throw the football. Last week, he didn’t look too good, but it was his first time really getting a chance to play. I expect him to look a lot better.

“And, oh, by the way, they’re also playing Arkansas.”

Indeed, Arkansas has struggled this season and has yet to win an SEC game in Chad Morris’s two years in Fayetteville.

However, on Nov. 9, the Tide host LSU. If Jones is still the starter at that point, it’ll be a bigger concern.
