Staying home: Alabama lands commitment from 4-star in-state linebacker Ian Jackson
Alabama is keeping one of the state’s top linebacker prospects in the 2021 recruiting cycle home.
Prattville, Ala., native Ian Jackson announced his commitment to Alabama on Thursday over scholarship offers from Auburn, Georgia, LSU, Oklahoma and many others.
The 6-foot-1, 210-pound Jackson is rated as a four-star prospect, the No. 15 outside linebacker in the nation, the No. 8 overall prospect from Alabama and a top 300 prospect in the 2021 recruiting cycle by 247Sports Composite Rankings.
During his junior season for Prattville High School, Jackson registered 91 tackles, 18 tackles for loss, six sacks, three forced fumbles and a pick six.
Jackson’s pledge gives Alabama a total of six commitments for the 2021 recruiting cycle, five of which are rated as four-star prospects.
