Alabama’s College Football Playoff hopes took a hit when the Tide dropped their Week 2 game against Texas, but Alabama has done much to redeem the loss in the weeks following.

Many people have counted Alabama out of the CFP, but Paul Finebaum disagrees. He thinks Alabama is still very much in Playoff contention.

While he admits Alabama has looked rough this season, he believes quarterback Jalen Milroe is starting to click and is playing well. He also believes they have a chance to win the rest of their games and meet Georgia in the SEC Championship.

“I do think they’re in great shape,” Finebaum said. “They’re a work in progress, they’re hard to watch sometimes, they make a ridiculous amount of mistakes. But Jalen Milroe — who by the way, Tommy Rees, the new offensive coordinator benched a couple weeks ago — is now back and playing at a very high level. There’s still some work to be done, they have Tennessee next week, they have LSU in 3 weeks, but I think they have a chance to get through all of that and it’s going to come down to Georgia in the SEC Championship game.”

It won’t be easy for the Tide as they prepare to face teams like Tennessee and LSU, but big wins over Ole Miss and Texas A&M have certainly helped them stay in the Playoff race and now things are looking much better.
