Jahmyr Gibbs has been a very nice addition for the Detroit Lions during their impressive 2023 campaign.
The former Alabama running back became just the 3rd Lions player in history to accrue over 1,000 scrimmage yards and 10 touchdowns during his rookie season, joining Billy Sims and one of the greatest running backs of all time, Barry Sanders.
Gibbs has totaled 154 carries for 872 yards and 9 touchdowns while also hauling in 51 receptions for 316 yards and 1 touchdown. And he’s done it all with 2 regular season games to go, though it’s worth mentioning Sims and Sanders both played in an era with only 16 regular season games.
Still, Gibbs is 1 game ahead of schedule.

Detroit has done something they haven’t in a very long time: officially reached the playoffs. The Lions clinched a trip to the NFC playoffs on Sunday when they downed the division rival Minnesota Vikings.
