During the National Championship Game, the Alabama Crimson Tide trailed the Georgia Bulldogs 13-0 at halftime.

That’s when freshman QB Tua Tagovailoa replaced sophomore Jalen Hurts and, as they say, the rest was history. Tagovailoa led Alabama to an overtime victory, throwing three touchdown passes in relief of Hurts.

Now, the Tide enter the offseason with a quarterback battle brewing. On Tuesday afternoon, ESPN analyst Booger McFarland joined “The Paul Finebaum Show” to discuss the upcoming competition, saying he thinks Hurts will have every chance to keep his job:

Yes, Tagovailoa led the title-game comeback, but in all fairness to Hurts, he’s the one who led Alabama to two-straight National Championship Games.

It’ll be interesting to see what happens this offseason, but Alabama has two intriguing options at the quarterback position.
