Jalen Milroe has had some inconsistencies throughout the season, despite still being seen as one of the best quarterbacks in the nation. He certainly made quite the convincing case for himself in the 42-13 win over the LSU Tigers in Baton Rouge on Saturday, though.

Milroe was not anything incredibly special through the air, completing 12 of his 18 passing attempts for 109 yards. But he was a force on the ground as he so often tends to be, leading the team in rushing and nearly crossing the century-mark two times over.

By the time the clock struck zeroes, Milroe tallied 185 rushing yards and 4 touchdowns on 12 carries. The Crimson Tide quarterback credited the team’s unity and communication for the success he was able to have in the ground game.

“The number one thing, when we go on a roll, is communication,” Milroe said. “Communication is so important for us. That was an emphasis going into the week. We have to be the most prepared team when it comes to communication, and it was a key resource for us in this football game.”

This was seen as a must-win game for Alabama in order to make it into the College Football Playoff, and Kalen DeBoer’s team very much stays in the race after a victory like this one.
