Jalen Milroe confirmed what a lot of people around Tuscaloosa assumed: He will be returning for another season in 2024.

Milroe could have opted to enter the draft if he wanted, but another year in college could work wonders for his draft position, especially in a QB-rich class such as 2024. He has 2 seasons of eligibility remaining after redshirting in 2021.

Milroe officially announced his intentions on The Next Round Thursday morning.

Milroe has started just 1 season for the Crimson Tide and showed strong promise during that stretch. His improvement from Week 1 to the conference title game against Georgia is night and day, which made for a legitimate case to be invited to New York for the Heisman ceremony. And if he can develop even further as a passer – specifically in his progressions – he’ll be an interesting NFL prospect in the future.

But he and the Tide have other focuses right now. A date with No. 1 Michigan at the Rose Bowl awaits, set for Jan 1. at 5 p.m. ET on ESPN.
