Jalen Milroe earns high placement on ESPN’s updated QB rankings for 2025 NFL Draft
Jalen Milroe is extremely well-thought-of by NFL scouts who evaluated his play in 2024.
On Thursday morning, ESPN NFL Draft analyst Jordan Reid updated his ranking of the top 12 quarterback prospects who are eligible for the 2025 draft. While Milroe has not yet officially declared for the draft, he was still considered for this ranking — and landed at No. 3 overall.
In Reid’s rankings, Milroe is behind only Miami quarterback Cam Ward and Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders. He’s ahead of the likes of Georgia QB Carson Beck, Oregon QB Dillon Gabriel, Texas QB Quinn Ewers, Ole Miss QB Jaxson Dart and plenty more.
Here’s an excerpt of analysis from Reid about what the Alabama QB still needs to improve on:
The biggest remaining question is whether Milroe can marry his footwork to his release timing on underneath throws. While his deep passing is a strength and his accuracy on intermediate throws has improved, he still takes too long to get the ball out on throws in which he’s asked to make pre-snap reads and execute.
With just the bowl game left to play, Milroe has thrown for 2,652 yards, 15 touchdowns and 10 interceptions this season. His rushing numbers are more impressive: 152 carries for 719 yards and 20 touchdowns.
Jalen Milroe will have until Jan. 15 to decide whether or not he will declare for the 2025 NFL Draft.
