Jalen Milroe wasn’t afraid to step on any toes when it came to former Alabama offensive coordinator Bill O’Brien.

O’Brien was on the Alabama coaching staff from 2021-2022 as the offensive coordinator, and apparently the pair had discussions about Milroe potentially switching positions.

Milroe was asked about that Thursday. Here’s his reponse:

“How would you feel if I told you, you sucked? That’s exactly how I felt like. The biggest thing for me is to be true to myself and stay the same,” said Milroe. “Nothing’s changed about me. The only thing that’s changed is that I had the opportunity and seized it. For me, the biggest thing was to stay true to myself and add a bigger purpose to anyone’s opinion.”

One reporter asked Milroe about the position or positions that O’Brien suggested that the Alabama quarterback could play. Milroe said that there were plenty of options.

“I mean, he told me that there were a lot of position I could switch to. But look where I’m at right now,” said Milroe. “You know what I’m saying? So, who gets the last laugh?”

Alabama fans are grateful that Milroe decided to stay at QB as he is a huge part of the offense. Milroe and Alabama have a chance to prove O’Brien wrong further as they take on Michigan in the Rose Bowl on Monday.
