Jalen Milroe said Alabama’s primary focus in preparation for playing No. 1 Michigan at the Rose Bowl in the College Football Playoffs is getting healthy.

In an interview with Greg McElroy and Cole Cubelic on WJOX in Birmingham, Alabama, Milroe said getting their bodies into peak condition was the early focus for Crimson Tide players.

Milroe told the broadcasters that his personal preparations will continue to be much the same as they are before every game.

“I’m already focused on Michigan, that Georgia game is over with, it’s all about playing the next opponent and really attacking them,” he said. “… I’m all about routine, so I do the same thing every week, no matter who the opponent is, and throughout this time before we play Michigan, I’m going to do the same thing.”

From what he’s seen on tape, Milroe said Michigan appears to be a tough team. The QB said the Tide is entering the game with respect for the undefeated Big Ten champions.

“They have a lot of speed on the back end, so it’s going to be a good test for our team,” he said. “With that, you’ve got to respect your opponent, and there’s a reason why they’re undefeated. They’re playing that way.”

Milroe has been a weekly guest on the show, concluding broadcasts with an NIL commercial. The sophomore recaptured the Tide’s starting quarterback job in Week 4, a victory over Ole Miss. Coach Nick Saban benched him after the Tide’s loss to Texas, but Milroe returned to the lineup one week later after the Tide’s sluggish victory over South Florida.
