Jamil Burroughs, Alabama DL, reportedly hits transfer portal

Jamil Burroughs is a former 4-star prospect who began his college career at Alabama after originally committing to Georgia. Now, Burroughs is reportedly looking at his options via the transfer portal.

Joe Cook with On3 Sports reported on Burroughs’ move Friday evening. Burroughs has spent 3 seasons with the Crimson Tide.

Coming out of high school, Burroughs was the 34th DT in the country for the 2020 recruiting class per the 247 Sports Composite. He generated a host of Power 5 offers and was committed to Georgia for a year before reopening his commitment and heading to Tuscaloosa.

Burroughs’ best season came a year ago with 8 tackles, 2 TFL and a sack. His best game came in a win over Mississippi State with 5 total tackles and half a sack against the Bulldogs. Burroughs had 15 tackles, 3 TFL and 2 sacks in 20 games played for Alabama.
