After spending just one season on campus, Alabama sophomore forward Javian Davis is exploring his options elsewhere.

Davis announced on Thursday he will be entering the NCAA transfer portal but is leaving the door open on a return to the program.

The sophomore forward appeared in 31 games for the Crimson Tide last season in Nate Oats’ first season in Tuscaloosa.

Davis averaged six points, 3.8 rebounds and half an assist per contest during his 31 appearances, which included 14 starts.

The rising sophomore announced the news with the following comments:

“What’s up Crimson Tide family! I just wanted to inform you guys that I will be entering my name in the transfer portal with the option of returning to the University of Alabama. I want to thank everyone whose been in my corner since I’ve been here.”

Players are allowed to enter the portal and return to school, however, entering the portal allows other schools to contact them freely regarding a potential transfer.
