Jay Bilas has kept an eye on Alabama this season, watching as the Crimson Tide have looked like a potential title contender at times and watching as they have lost at Mizzou and Georgia.

Alabama just lost to a short-handed Kentucky team, 90-81, in Lexington on Saturday afternoon. Still, though, the Tide’s spot in the NCAA Tournament seems to be secure at the moment.

On Tuesday, Bilas joined “McElroy and Cubelic in the Morning” on WJOX to discuss Alabama’s Final Four potential and the chances that the Tide suffer an early loss in March Madness:

“I think Alabama, they’re capable of a Final Four,” Bilas said. “I don’t think they’re in the tier of teams, which I count as about 8, that are championship favorites. But, they’re good enough to win 4 games and get to a Final Four. But, they’re also subject to getting bounced out in the Sweet 16 or the second round. But, that’s probably true of almost every team out there. I don’t think there’s a team out there that I would go, ‘Oh my god!’ if — if Gonzaga lost in the Sweet 16, I would have my jaw on the floor.”

Alabama fans are currently nodding their heads after reading Bilas’s take on the Tide. It has been a season of dizzying highs and devastating lows for Alabama this year. We’ll see how this team performs in the postseason. Anything is possible!
