Alabama’s basketball program is set to lose some depth as freshman guard Jaylen Forbes has entered the NCAA transfer portal with the intention of leaving the program.

Jeff Goodman of Stadium was the first to report the news.

Forbes appeared in 30 games last season for the Crimson Tide, averaging 2.7 points, 2.1 rebounds and half an assist per contest.

Forbes is a native of Florence, Miss., and signed with Alabama after being ranked as the No. 2 overall prospect from Mississippi and by ESPN and a four-star prospect according to 247Sports Composite Rankings.

The Crimson Tide’s latest recruiting class is currently ranked among the top 20 hauls in the nation led by four-star recruits Josh Primo and Keon Ambrose-Hylton.
