Jermaine Burton came to Alabama via Georgia this offseason and was expected to step into the role as the Crimson Tide’s top receiver.

So far, he’s doing pretty well, as he’s scored the Crimson Tide’s first touchdown of the 2022 season.

As you can see below, Bryce Young found Burton in the back of the end zone from 5 yards out to give the Tide a 10-0 lead over Utah State in Tuscaloosa:

The Tide are working to replace last year’s top 2 receivers, Jameson Williams and John Metchie III. Louisville transfer WR Tyler Harrell was spotted in a walking boot pregame, so it doesn’t seem as though he’ll make his Alabama debut on Saturday night.

So, for now, it’s Burton’s time to shine alongside some of the younger receivers. We’ll see how often Young looks his way moving forward.
