Jim Harbaugh acknowledged there are indeed rumors circulating about the Catapult software system used by Michigan and other programs this season.

Catapult Sports recently addressed some of those rumors and confirmed there is an ongoing investigation into alleged unauthorized access of video footage within the system. Catapult says they have found no breaches in security but are cooperating with an ongoing NCAA investigation.

During Saturday’s Rose Bowl media day, Harbaugh admitted there are rumors circulating “about the cloud and Catapult system, and I think they’re just taking precautions,” per Aaron McMann with MLive.com.

Both Michigan and Alabama have instructed players to forego using their individual tablets to watch film on the system. Crimson Tide receiver Isaiah Bond says the team is still getting their usual amount of film study in but watching the film has been done in larger groups as opposed to individually.

As for learning about potential issues with Catapult, Harbaugh said things began simply as a “rumor.”

“People just started talking about that,” Harbaugh said. “We know very little about how that works.”

The head coach went on to clarify he is not accusing anyone of anything. Harbaugh maintains Michigan knows very little about the situation.

“Please know I’m not accusing anybody of anything,” Harbaugh said. “Just don’t really know. I don’t know. I don’t know.

“Don’t know as I sit here.”
