Florida State coach Jimbo Fisher has a long history with Alabama coach Nick Saban, serving as Saban’s offensive coordinator when Saban’s LSU squad won the 2003 national championship.

Now, the two old friends and former colleagues are getting ready to square off in a Week 1 showdown in Atlanta on Saturday night.

During an ACC media call on Wednesday, Fisher said preparing for a Saban-led squad is never easy and you never know what the Crimson Tide are going to throw at you to try to win a game (via AL.com):

“The thing about the way (Saban) — his all-encompassing program about how to develop players and how offense plays the defense and the defense plays the offense, and you don’t separate yourself, that’s one of the great things that Nick does, is build that team concept,” he said. “People say, well, sometimes he says he wants to be a conservative. That’s not it at all. Nick wants to do what he has to do to win the game.”

Alabama enters the 2017 season as the No. 1 team in the country, while the Seminoles enter at No. 3.

The game is scheduled to kick off at 8 p.m. Eastern time and can be seen on ABC.
