John Metchie’s 2022 plans have been revealed. The junior Alabama wide receiver has signed with an agency ahead of the 2022 NFL Draft.

WME Sports announced Metchie as a client on Friday. The news came before Metchie shared any kind of announcement on his own via social media, but after ESPN’s Chris Low reported, per sources, the Alabama wideout would declare for the draft.

While teammate Jameson Williams made the big-play highlight grabs and was up for the Biletnikoff Award, Metchie was Alabama’s receptions leader with 96 catches to Williams’ 79. Metchie, who missed the College Football Playoff after injuring his ACL in the SEC Championship Game, posted numbers of 1,142 receiving yards and 8 touchdowns in his third year with the Crimson Tide. He earned second-team All-SEC recognition in 2021.

Metchie, from Brampton, Canada, departs Tuscaloosa with 155 receptions, which ranks seventh in UA history.
