John Parker Wilson recently shared his thoughts on his alma mater Alabama who’s on a bye after defeating rival Tennessee 34-20 last weekend.

Alabama trailed 13-0 and then 20-7 at halftime before blanking Tennessee in the second half to earn the victory.

During an appearance on McElroy And Cubelic In The Morning, Parker Wilson was highly impressed by the resiliency of No. 9 Alabama to bounce back from a tough first half.

“After the first half performance wasn’t expecting that Alabama would come out like they did,” Parker Wilson said. “We’ve seen that pretty frequently from Alabama this season with a tale of 2 halves.”

Parker Wilson marveled at the switch that was flipped after halftime.

“We didn’t have a lot of momentum going. I felt like we kind of came out playing timid, playing shy,” Parker Wilson said. “Then for whatever reason, Jalen gets us going in the second half and then it was off to the races where we just kind of woke up and got going. Just played better more efficient football.”

With Alabama on a bye week, Parker Wilson wants the Crimson Tide to focus on the little details before its crucial contest vs. visiting No. 15 LSU on Nov. 4.

“When Alabama struggles its not glaring issues. Earlier in the season we were turning the ball over. We’re getting better with penalties. We’re getting more disciplined on offense,” Parker Wilson said. ” To me, it is about execution because even when we’re not being productive or successful, it’s just the little things that are just throwing us off slightly.”

Alabama is in the driver’s seat to reach the SEC title game. Parker Wilson is excited to see how the season will conclude for the Crimson Tide.

“This team can play with anybody when we’re good. We’ve got flashes. We’ve shown that we can be dominant,” Parker Wilson said. “We can go out and really dictate what we’re doing to another team.”
