The Alabama Crimson Tide have a number of positions to fill on their coaching staff this offseason, including the offensive coordinator job.

After Mike Locksley left to take the Maryland job, the Tide have been searching for a new guy, and could end up hiring Steve Sarkisian.

However, there was also interest between Alabama and Notre Dame OC Chip Long, who is a Birmingham native. It doesn’t appear Long will be heading to Tuscaloosa this offseason though (via 247Sports):

Sunday morning, a source told Irish Illustrated that Long was “not going to Bama.” Irish Illustrated has not received official confirmation, however, that Long will return to Notre Dame.

Reports have strongly connected Sark to the position at Alabama, though, so it wouldn’t be a big surprise to see him land the job for the 2019 season.

Long, it appears, will remain at Notre Dame running an offense he has turned into one of the nation’s best the past two seasons.
