Kirk Herbstreit burns NASCAR analyst over tweet about Alabama

Kirk Herbstreit isn’t afraid to call out anyone on Twitter.

Following a wild Saturday in college football, Herbstreit released his updated top four teams in the country. Surprisingly, Alabama wasn’t ranked No. 1. Instead, OU topped his rankings this week. The Sooners have the best player in the country, QB Baker Mayfield, and the best offense in the country. So, he’s not completely crazy and can justify the Sooners at No. 1.

FOX Sports NASCAR analyst Larry McReynolds wasn’t too happy about Herbie being “anti Crimson Tide.” McReynolds took to Twitter to voice his displeasure.

If Herbstreit spent all of his time responding to the criticism, he wouldn’t get anything else done. But he did take issue with McReynolds’ tweet.

It’s quite amazing how many people lash out at Herbstreit and others for simply stating their opinion. When Herbstreit picks against teams, fans hit him up on social media angry over his pick or to tell him how wrong he was. That’s just part of being the face of college football on ESPN, isn’t it?

But that “wrastling match” comment got me.
