Kirk Herbstreit took a stance in the College Football Playoff debate, and he’s been taking it on the shins all week from critics.

Herbstreit fired back at critics on Friday on “The Pat McAfee Show” and concluded that the people that don’t agree with him simply don’t understand how the CFP committee sorts out rankings.

“A lot of people don’t understand the cluster,” Herbstreit said. “All these people that are upset, do they ever break down, when they get to a cluster of teams, this is what the committee is asked to follow? Have you ever heard that, when people bitch and complain? They don’t like facts, they don’t like information, they like conspiracy theories.”

Herbstreit said there are people who are “radical” and upset and throwing out untrue conspiracy theories.

Herbstreit later said that he supported coach Mike Norvell when fans wanted to push him out in favor of Deion Sanders. Herbstreit said Norvell needed time to rebuild the program.

Herbstreit concluded that if Florida State had beaten Louisville 59-0 in the ACC Championship, the Seminoles would have been in the Playoff.
