Kirk Herbstreit took to social media to share his reaction following the reveal of the College Football Playoff rankings.

Herbstreit acknowledged that many people were upset with these rankings. The undefeated Florida State Seminoles were left out in favor of the 1-loss Alabama Crimson Tide.

The veteran analyst acknowledged that Alabama “should’ve and did” get the edge over the Seminoles.

“It’s very, very sad to see the injury (to Jordan Travis) and then of course for the Noles to be left out,” Herbstreit explained. “So please don’t take this personally. It’s more a reflection of evaluating Alabama vs. Florida State and who is the better team right now. And that’s why Bama should’ve and did get the edge.”

The Tide will be the No. 4 seed and will play the No. 1 Michigan Wolverines in the Rose Bowl. The Noles, meanwhile, will face Georgia in the Orange Bowl.

“Listen, you don’t have to agree with it, but there’s no agenda,” Herbstreit declared. “This is just picking the 4 best teams, and that’s where we are.”
