Lane Kiffin had a chance to bolt for the west coast, but it appears as though he’s content working with Nick Saban at Alabama for the time being.
According to a report by Football Scoop, which cites ESPN’s Brett McMurphy as a source, Kiffin turned down an offer to return to Los Angeles as the offensive coordinator at UCLA prior to coaching in the national championship game.

Kiffin previously was an offensive coordinator and later the head coach at USC, which is also located in Los Angeles and is the top rival of UCLA.
The Bruins position opened up when Noel Mazzone left his post to take the offensive coordinator job at Texas A&M.
As it turns out, the opportunity to return to the big city and coach under Jim Mora Jr. was not enough to persuade Kiffin to leave his role in Tuscaloosa, which just earned him a national championship ring.
This is speculation on our part, but it would seem that Kiffin may be holding out for a head coaching job at the college level or perhaps another shot in the NFL.
