Because Alabama has been blowing out most of its opponents this season, starting QB Jalen Hurts hasn’t been playing much in the second halves of games.

Still, he’s managed to make the most of his limited action, throwing for 747 yards and six touchdowns and adding 461 yards and four touchdowns on the ground.

More importantly, he also hasn’t turned the ball over at all while guiding the Crimson Tide to a 5-0 record.

Because of that, he’s earned Heisman Trophy support from Lane Kiffin, his former offensive coordinator who is currently the coach at Florida Atlantic:

Obviously, there are still a lot of games left to play, so Hurts will have to continue playing well if he’s going to stay in the Heisman discussion.

But, only one year removed from winning the SEC Offensive Player of the Year award as a true freshman, Hurts certainly is talented enough to win the Heisman if he continues dominating in multiple aspects of the game.

However, the Crimson Tide will need to stop blowing opponents out so Hurts can get a bit of playing time in the fourth quarters of games moving forward.
