It’s been almost a month since National Signing Day, and five-star WR Demetris Robertson remains unsigned. But why?

Robertson doesn’t want to rush his decision, and he has made it clear that academics are his priority.

“I really want my academics first because football isn’t going to last long,” Robertson said. “Fans want me to put football first but that’s not the reality of football. Football can bring me a lot of fame and attention and set me up, but I also want to set myself up with my academics and a degree.”

Stanford has been the frontrunner for 5-foot-11, 175-pound receiver out of Georgia. But he doesn’t yet have the SAT scores to be a part of the Cardinal.

According to Dawg Nation, Robertson took the SAT again before National Signing Day, but he apparently didn’t raise it by as much as he needed to get into Stanford, because he is rumored to be taking the test again on March 5.

Another reason for the delay in signing is the fact that Robertson is a two-sport athlete, and his high school basketball team is pretty good.

It was expected that Robertson would make his first official visit to Georgia once his basketball season ended. But as they often do, plans changed.

Robertson reportedly headed to Tuscaloosa yesterday for an official visit. Before his junior year, he announced his commitment to the Tide, though he eventually re-opened recruitment.

Stanford, Alabama and Georgia have long been his favorites, but Robertson is also considering Notre Dame and Georgia Tech.

He is not expected to make a decision until after he receives his SAT scores on May 10, but he says that while he won’t rush his decision, we can expect him to perform well regardless of where he goes.

“I’m not trying to go somewhere I don’t want to go. I want to sit down and see everything a long way out because my academics are the most important thing to me,” Robertson said. “I know wherever I go I am going to ball out.”
