Latrell Wrightsell Jr., All-Big West transfer G, announces SEC commitment

Latrell Wrightsell Jr. has found a home in the SEC. The first-team All-Big West guard is transferring from Cal State Fullerton to Alabama.
Wrightsell announced his commitment Sunday on his Twitter account.

Wrightsell heads to Tuscaloosa for Year 4 of his college basketball career. He’s coming off a standout 2022-23 season.
Last year, Wrightsell played in 30 of the Titans’ 33 games, starting in 29 contests. He led the team in scoring with 16.3 points per game, which ranked 6th in the Big West. Wrightsell also averaged 2.4 assists and 4.5 rebounds per game. He posted a career-high 29 points on Jan. 16 against CSU Bakersfield.
An Omaha, Nebraska native, Wrightsell joined the Titans in the 2020-21 season. As a freshman, Wrightsell played in 11 games, starting 9. He averaged 9 points per game while playing 24.6 minutes per contest.
As a sophomore, Wrightsell played in 31 of the Titans’ 32 games in the 2021-22 campaign, averaging 6.7 points over 27 minutes per game.
