Following Tua Tagovailoa’s 16-yard loss on a sack on the prior overtime play, nobody predicted what would happen next. Tagovailoa hit WR DeVonta Smith on a streak down the sideline with an absolutely perfect pass, and the Crimson Tide won yet another National Championship.
Alabama radio legend Eli Gold has called five National Championships in the last nine seasons, but even he had to be surprised at the game-winning play:
