LOOK: Mack Wilson says he'll 'take the blame' for Alabama's defensive start
The Alabama Crimson Tide are 6-0 and playing like an absolute juggernaut. However, the defensive players are acting like they’re 0-6.
After every game, the Crimson Tide say they didn’t play up to their standard — which is admirable, but also hard to fully buy as the team continues to rout opponents.
On Monday, LB Mack Wilson took to Twitter to “take the blame” for Alabama’s slow start defensively, as you can see below:
I’ll take the blame on how this defense been performing even though we been winning. There’s a difference between winning and there’s a difference in making the other team quit, and that’s our goal every game! That’s just how we built at Alabama, its the STANDARD. ?? #RollTide pic.twitter.com/MYFMmCas5w

Yes, the Tide could play better on that side of the ball, but this just feels like if Thomas Edison had “taken the blame” for inventing the light bulb, or if Alexander Fleming had “taken the blame” for discovering penicillin.
Still, unless the Tide shut out Missouri on Saturday (which is possible), expect to hear players saying similar things next week.
