Mark Barron to face fellow Alabama 2008 recruiting class members on Sunday
Hardly a week goes by where Los Angeles Rams S Mark Barron doesn’t square off against a former Alabama teammate or two.
In fact, according to AL.com, Barron has faced 15 former Crimson Tide players already this season. Barron said it’s always nice to see his Alabama brothers, even if they haven’t spoken for a while:
“It is a fraternity, very much so,” Barron toldĀ the Orange County Register about the Alabama players in the NFL. “Even if guys go forever without talking, still we understand that we put in a lot of work in those years we spent together. It’s most definitely like a real fraternity. Anything off the field, we’re always there for each other. I think it’s one of those things: If it’s a Bama guy, you know it’s a brotherhood.”
However, this weekend’s game against the Atlanta Falcons will be special for Barron. On the Falcons’ sideline, he’ll see WR Julio Jones and DT Courtney Upshaw, three of the top members of Alabama’s 2008 recruiting class.
The trio of talented players helped lead the Crimson Tide to the 2009 title as sophomores. Barron and Upshaw also won a title as seniors in 2011.
