Media reacts to Alabama QB Tua Tagovailoa's announcement for 2020 season
Alabama QB Tua Tagovailoa has announced that he will enter the 2020 NFL Draft and leave the Crimson Tide as he continues to recover from a dislocated hip and subsequent surgery.
“It was a hard decision all around,” Tagovailoa said at a press conference. “Taking into consideration the pros and cons. I got to seek guidance from my family — we prayed a lot about it. This is a decision I’ll have to live with. I made it. I’m good with it.”
Before Tagovailoa announced, coach Nick Saban said Tagovailoa has “probably had as much of an impact on the program here as any player we’ve ever had,” especially off the field.
As expected, many opinions poured in from around college football and NFL media:

Anyone who does not think quarterback at Alabama is the No. 2 job in this state (behind Saban) needs to be in this TL.

Georgia goes to Tuscaloosa in week 3 next season, and the opposing QB will not be Tua Tagovailoa. https://t.co/HE6GBHxBK0

Tua: “I will be declaring for the 2020 NFL draft.”
How Dolphins fans heard it: “I’M GONNA TAKE MY TALENTS TO SOUTH BEACH.”

Having a player of Tua’s caliber for another year would have been incredible for college football. But the next time that man puts on a uniform he needs to be getting paid.

Tua just gave a remarkable thank you speech, closing with a Tim McGraw quote. He is quite good at this.

Tua says he did not consider the supplemental draft. “If that was part of my process I would have probably stayed here,” he says.

Kinda crazy that Vince Young, Andrew Luck, Deshaun Watson and Tua combined to win zero Heismans.
