Media reacts to Alabama’s strong start against Notre Dame
By SDS Staff

Different year, same story: that’s the early theme of this year’s Alabama-Notre Dame postseason clash.
Once again, the Crimson Tide is out to a double-digit lead at the half, scoring with ease against the Fighting Irish defense.
The media reaction on Twitter is going about as one would expect with many calling out the College Football Playoff selection committee for putting Notre Dame in the final four as Brian Kelly’s squad doesn’t appear to belong on the same field as Nick Saban’s No. 1-ranked UA team.
Many are also hoping for a more competitive game in the other CFP semifinal when Clemson takes on Ohio State.
You can really tell how Notre Dame is improving as a program. In the 2013 national championship game Alabama went up 14-0 in 9 minutes and 46 seconds. This time it took Alabama 10 minutes and 41 seconds. that's almost a whole minute better

Can we kick off OSU-Clemson a couple hours earlier?

Two things can be true:
1. Brian Kelly has Notre Dame at about as high a level as any coach can have Notre Dame in this era.
2. Theyre still not even in the same stratosphere as Alabama and Clemson

The live line is Bama -28.5. Prob still some value if you want to lay em

I would rather go to a 3 team playoff over seeing ND in the playoffs again.

This is gonna be sooooooooooo ugly. #bamavsnd

Notre Dame is a joke. Not a primetime football program, and we’re tired of seeing them get wrecked by a far superior team in the CFP. Come at us, Irish fans.

2021 not looking any different for Notre Dame so far!

Glad we shoehorned ND into this thing. https://t.co/Z0dOPEzez8

Clark Lea getting a head start on what it's like being the vandy HC.

Alabama’s offense gotta slow down. Their defense needs to catch their breath.

notre dame had to grind out that last TD drive and bama zipped right down the field
— charles (“you look good” – andy reid) mcdonald (@FourVerts) January 1, 2021
Notre Dame had to scrap and claw for every inch to score a touchdown. And then Alabama goes 84 yards in six plays without breaking a sweat.

Alabama is probably going to win by a lot, and people will respond with “LOL Notre Dame sucks” and the truth will just be that Alabama does this to damn near everybody.
— Tom Fornelli (@TomFornelli) January 1, 2021
Alabama is a full first down (10.2 yds/play) better than Notre Dame on each snap.
— Bryan Fischer (@BryanDFischer) January 1, 2021
It's like Brian Kelly built this Notre Dame team to compete with 2012 Alabama to match them in the trenches, not the 2020 track meet version.
