Miami Dolphins agree to contract with first-round pick Minkah Fitzpatrick
There won’t be any holdout forthcoming from Minkah Fitzpatrick, as the former Alabama All-American is poised to hit the ground running in Miami following his first-round selection in the 2018 NFL Draft.
That’s because the Dolphins have signed Fitzpatrick to his first NFL contract. Due to the current rules regarding NFL contracts, first-round picks are signed to four-year deals that give each team the option to renew the deals for a fifth-year.
Fitzpatrick was the No. 11 overall selection in the 2018 NFL Draft. His deal is valued at $16.4 million for the first four seasons.
